An Introduction to Disk Encryption
In this how-to and mini-workshop, we plan to cover the following topics:
- a brief explanation of why you should care;
- the different types of file and disk encryption;
- basic walk-throughs on how to install and use some of the most common disk encryption systems;
- a few key gotchas (or what not to do if you don't want to undermine the your freshly encrypted disk);
- some thoughts on the intersections of steganography, plausible deniability and legal requirements for disclosure; and
- links to other how-tos and resources
